IndependentlyYou is a disability support service servicing Bendigo, Victoria and its surrounding areas. We are committed to helping people with disabilities live an independent life. We provide a support service designed to help NDIS participants build the necessary skills and confidence to successfully navigate their world. Our team is made up of hand-picked support workers who provide personalised assistance to meet the unique needs of each participant. We focus on improving the independence of participants, helping them both out in the community and in the home. At IndependentlyYou we strive to provide quality support that can help individuals reach their full potential.

How we can help

At IndependentlyYou we offer support workers to assist NDIS participants with a variety of services. If you are Self-managed or Plan-managed you may be able to use your core NDIS funding for our services.

Support in the Community

Engaging and being a part of their local community helps people feel connected and builds meaningful relationships. Our staff are experienced in supporting participants in the community with activities such as shopping, medical appointments, social outings, a day trip around Victoria, or even an overnight stay in Melbourne.

Home Support and Respite

Some participants may need some support around the home. At IndependentlyYou we can help with meal preperation, cleaning, household chores and self care. We understand that families work hard to look after their loved ones, that's why we offer in home respite for when families need a holiday to recharge.

Help building life skills

IndependentlyYou strives to help particpants live a fulfiling and empowered life.  Whether it's learning to cook, helping write a basic resume or improving communication skills, we aim to help clients develop their  independence and live rewarding and empowered lives.

Director

Nick has a passion for enabling individuals with disabilities to uncover their independence and attain their aspirations. His dedication stems from personal experiences and encounters with exceptional carers who inspired him to create a platform where individuals with disabilities can flourish. Before venturing into the world of disability support, Nicholas was a successful professional Ballroom and Latin dance instructor. This enriching journey provided him with invaluable insights into the transformative power of self-expression. Nicholas understands that every person, regardless of their abilities, has the right to express themselves creatively and live as independently as possible. Through IndependentYou, Nick endeavors to create a supportive environment that enables individuals with disabilities to overcome challenges and embrace their strengths.

Support Worker

 

"Tim is a former factory worker with a solid foundation in maintenance and assembly, now transitioning to a role as a disability support worker. He finds joy in tinkering with cars and mechanical intricacies. Tim is an easy-going individual seeking a fulfilling challenge, "I've dedicated myself to assisting others in embracing and enjoying their lives to the fullest."

Liz is a dedicated mother who brings a wealth of diverse experiences to her role as a disability support worker. With a strong background in customer service and a caring touch in aged care, she also possesses a foundational understanding of Auslan (Australian Sign Language). Liz is enthusiastic about utilising her unique blend of experiences and skills to provide compassionate support, empowering individuals to build self-confidence and embrace a fulfilling life.

Support Worker

Felicity is an experienced primary school teacher who has taught in multiple countries and is currently studying to be a chef. She has a passion for teaching people with a disability how to cook easy but delicious meals, helping to promote healthy eating and the importance of nutrition. We are very lucky to have Felicity on the team!

Originally from Guinea, Tosh brings a unique background as a former professional soccer player. His athletic prowess and love for the gym highlight his commitment to physical fitness and well-being. Tosh's kind and compassionate nature makes him an excellent support worker, always ready to provide attentive and empathetic care to our clients.
